Pattern: Morning sickness or threatened miscarriage in women with Spleen Qi deficiency and Qi stagnation, or Spleen and Stomach deficiency with Damp-Heat

Key Symptoms: Morning sickness or threatened miscarriage
Secondary Symptoms: Also used to treat reduced appetite, diarrhoea, weakness and weight loss


Ingredients

Ren Shen 9g
Bai Zhu 9g
Fu Ling 4.5g
Chen Pi 6g
Shan Zha 6g
Zhi Gan Cao 1.5g
Shan Yao 4.5g (dry fried)
Huang Lian 0.9g (dry fried)
Yi Yi Ren 4.5g (dry fried)
Bai Bian Dou 4.5g (dry fried)
Bai Dou Kou 1g
Huo Xiang Ye 1.5g
Lian Zi 4.5g (dry fried)
Ze Xie 1g (dry fried)
Jie Geng 1.5g
Qian Shi 4.5g (dry fried)
Mai Ya 3g (dry fried)

Subsitutions:
Ren Shen is normally substituted with Dang Shen or Tai Zi Shen at 2-3x the doasge.


Preparation: Ground into powder and formed into pulls with honey to take in 6g doses.


Actions: Augments the Qi, strengthens the Spleen, harmonises the Stomach, calms a restless foetus
