Pattern: Wind-Cold-Damp or Phlegm obstruction of the Channels stagnating Qi and Blood

Key Symptoms: Muscular pain and cramp, pains in the neck and shoulders, sprains and bruises
Secondary Symptoms: Mild scalding, insect bites

Dong Qing You 65.7% (Wintergreen Oil/Methyl Salicylate)
Song Jie You 22% (Turpentine Oil)
Gui You 5% (Cinnamon Oil)
Gui Ye You 4% (Cinnamon Leaf Oil)
Xiang Mao You 2% (Citronella Oil)
Xue Jie 0.3% (Sanguis Draconis)
La Jiao You 1% (Capsicum Oleoresin)

There are many Red Flower Oils available on the market, many like this one contain no Hong Hua (Red Flower). This one is interesting for its use of chili oil to make a more warming blend.

Preparation: Commercial product. For the western practitioner similar proportions could be mixed or an oil extraction with similar proportions and ingredients could be used.

Actions: Expels Wind-Cold-Dampness from Channels and Collaterals, moves Qi, relaxes the muscles, disperses Phlegm, opens the orifices, warm the Channels and alleviates pain

Contraindications: Do not apply directly to eyes, wounds or mucous membranes. Not to be used by children under 2 years old, during pregnancy or by people with allergy to Methyl Salicylate or Hot conditions such as fever or chickenpox.
