Bai Jiu 1.3L

Bai Jiu (white alcohol) traditionally means distilled rice wine but can be substituted with any clear 40% spirit.

Preparation: Grind the herbs and place them in a jar with 1.3L of alcohol for 3 days. Boil over a fire until the wind turns black, remove the dregs and store for use. Take as much as is necessary on an empty stomach at no fixed times.

Actions: Tonifies Yin and Yang, blackens the hair, restores colour to the cheeks.

Contraindications: The boiling process will remove most of the alcohol but it should still not be overused or prescribed in Damp-Heat conditions.
