Huang Qi Jiu

Pattern: Qi vacuity, especially of the Lungs and Spleen (Taiyin)

Key Symptoms: Exhaustion, spontaneous sweating, diminished appetite, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, lack of strength in the limbs, haemorrhoids and prolapse



Ingredients
Huang Qi 300g
Bai Jiu 1.9L

Subsitutions:
Bai Jiu (white alcohol) traditionally means distilled rice wine but can be substituted with any clear 40% spirit.



Preparation: Place the Huang Qi in a large jar with the alcohol and seal the lid. Leave for 1 month, remove the dregs and take 10-60ml three times per day.

Actions: Tonifies Qi, engenders the production of Blood, stops sweating.

Contraindications: Damp-Heat conditions and long term use due to the harmful effects on continuous alcohol consumption.
