Pattern: One to two day old Wind-Cold disorder

Key Symptoms: Headache, neck pain, upper and lower back pain

Tongue: Thin white coat
Pulse: Floating

Cong Bai 9-12g
Dan Dou Chi 12-30g
Ma Huang 6-9g
Ge Gen 6-12g

In the UK Ma Huang is limited to a maximum single dose of 0.6g or a maximum daily dose of 1.8g. It may be complemented with other warm exterior releasing herbs such as Gui Zhi, Jing Jie, Fang Feng, Qiang Huo or Zi Su Ye.

Preparation: Decoction.

Actions: Unblocks the Yang Qi in the Exterior, expels Wind-Cold and induces sweating
