Category: Formulas that Regulate Qi

Pattern: Qi stagnation causing Blood stasis

Key Symptoms: Painful menstruation with dark menstrual blood and clots. Pain occurs before or during the early part of menstuation. Lower abdominal pain accompanied by even more pronounced distention.
Secondary Symptoms: Premenstrual symptoms such as swollen or painful breasts.

Tongue: White coating
Pulse: Wiry and tight



Ingredients
Wu Yao 30g
Sha Ren 30g
Mu Xiang 30g
Yan Hu Suo 30g
Xiang Fu 60g (dry fried)
Gan Cao 45g



Preparation: Ground into powder and taken in 20g draft with 3 slices of Sheng Jiang.

Actions: Promotes the movement of Qi, invigorates the Blood, regulates the menses, alleviates pain

Contraindications: Dysmenorrhoea due to Liver and Kidney deficiency where pain is worse during the end of menstruation
