Bai Jiu (white alcohol) traditionally means rice wine but can be substituted with any other high strength spirit.

Preparation: Place the herbs in a jar with 1.3L of alcohol soak for five days. Open the lid, remove the dregs and decant. Take 15-30ml slowly each time at no fixed schedule.

Actions: Clears Heat and dispels Wind, brightens the eyes and resolves Toxins

Contraindications: Pregnancy, long term use. Wine formulas that clear Damp-Heat should only be used for short periods due to the Damp-Heat producing nature of alcohol and preferably only the elderly with an underlying deficiency.

The source book just calls this Ju Hua Jiu / Chrysanthemum Wine but already has a formula under this name with only chrysanthemum and wine so this has been changed to include its next most prominent ingredient, Gou Qi Zi.
