Ling Pi Di Huang Jiu

Pattern: Kidney Yang Deficiency with Wind-Damp obstruction of the channels

Key Symptoms: Impotence, infertility, lack of strength in the lower back and knees, soreness and pain of the sinews and bones



Ingredients
Yin Yang Huo 250g
Shu Di Huang 150g
Bai Jiu 1.6L

Subsitutions:
Bai Jiu (white alcohol) traditionally means rice wine but can be substituted with any other high strength spirit.



Preparation: Grind the herbs into a powder and place in a large jar with 1.6L of alcohol and seal the lid for three days in the spring and summer and five days in the autumn and winter. Open, remove the dregs and store for use. Take whatever amount ones wants each day warm. It is normal to feel the alcohol but one should not get drunk.

Actions: Tonifies the Kidneys and reinforces Yang, dispels Wind, eliminates Dampness, strengthens the sinews and bones

Contraindications: Damp-Heat conditions, pregnancy and long term in the young and middle aged use due to the harmful effects on continuous alcohol consumption.

The formula names comes from the alternative name for Yin Yang Huo, Xian Ling Pi.
