Pattern: Heat drying the Stomach and Intestines

Key Symptoms: Constipation with hard stool that is difficult to expel
Secondary Symptoms: Normal or frequent urination

Tongue: Dry and thin with yellow coat
Pulse: Submerged, rapid or floating, choppy
Abdomen: Palpable hard stool in bowels, soft abdominal wall

Huo Ma Ren 30g
Xing Ren 15g
Bai Shao 15g
Zhi Shi 10g
Hou Po 15g
Da Huang 20g

Preparation: Decoction.

Actions: Moistens the intestines, drains Heat, promotes the movement of Qi, unblocks the bowels

Contraindications: Pregnancy, habitual use, or in very weak patients without modification
