Pattern: Abscesses due to Interior Heat

Key Symptoms: Swelling with no change in skin colour, fever, irritability, dry heaves, thirst, reduced urination, constipation

Pulse: Submerged and excessive

Zhi Zi 9g
Lian Qiao 9g
Bo He 6g
Jie Geng 6g
Gan Cao 6g
Dang Gui 9g
Bai Shao 9g
Mu Xiang 6g
Bing Lang 6g
Da Huang 6g

In the UK Bing Lang must be substituted with Zhi Shi and Yu Li Ren.

Preparation: Decoction.

Actions: Clears Heat and Resolves Toxicity

Contraindications: As a purely draining formula it should not be used in deficient patients without modification.
