Pattern: Shaoyang disorder: Clumping of Fire Toxin in the mouth and throat (Stomach) due to Fire in the Liver and Gallbladder

Key Symptoms: Headache, flushed cheeks, difficulty swallowing, inflammation of the mouth and throat, earache
Secondary Symptoms: Fever, swollen lymph nodes in the neck, bad breath, tinnitus, hearing loss, insomnia, irritability, coughing of thick viscous sputum, dark urine, nose bleeds, herpes zoster, genital sores

Tongue: Red
Pulse: Wiry, rapid
Abdomen: Tenderness and fullness under the ribcage, hypertonicity of the rectus abdominis muscle

Sheng Di Huang 4.5g
Dang Gui 6g
Chi Shao 4.5g
Chuan Xiong 3g
Lian Qiao 6g
Niu Bang Zi 4.5g
Huang Qin 3g
Zhi Zi 4.5g
Tian Hua Fen 3g
Fang Feng 3g
Gan Cao 3g



Preparation: Decoction.

Actions: Drains Fire, resolves Toxicity, spreads the Liver Qi, cools and invigorates the Blood

Contraindications: Long term use, pregnancy
