Category: Formulas that Treat Abscesses and Sores

Pattern: Early stage of intestinal abscess due to clumping of Heat and Blood in the Large Intestine with damage to Yin fluids

Key Symptoms: Severe abdominal pain mainly on the right, pain in the groin that is relieved by flexing the hip and knee and aggravated by extending the hip.
Secondary Symptoms: Chills and fever, aversion to drafts, spontaneous sweating, dry and scaly skin, dry mouth

Tongue: Red and dry
Abdomen: Increased pain on pressure with rebound tenderness, especially on the right



Ingredients
Jin Yin Hua 90g
Dang Gui 60g
Di Yu 30g
Xuan Shen 30g
Mai Men Dong 30g
Gan Cao 9g
Yi Yi Ren 15g
Huang Qin 6g



Preparation: Decoction.

Actions: Drains Fire excess, enriches the Yin, resolves toxicity

Contraindications: Cases without damage to Yin and Blood, or late stage appendicitis where Heat signs are not pronounced
