Pattern: Plum pit Qi, clumping of Qi and Phlegm with rebellious Stomach Qi

Key Symptoms: Feeling of something caught in the throat that can be neither swallowed not ejected, stifling sensation in the chest and hypochondria, epigastric fullness, symptoms worsen when under stress
Secondary Symptoms: Breathing difficulty, palpitations, anxiety, irritability, chest pain, nausea, vomiting, dry throat, hiccup, belching, abdominal distention

Tongue: Wet body with thin white coat
Pulse: Wiry and slow, or wiry and slippery
Abdomen: Epigastric focal distention, splashing sound in the epigastrium, palpable pulsations in epigastrium, slight distention in lower abdomen though abdomen generally feels soft


Ingredients
Zhi Ban Xia 9-12g
Hou Po 9g
Fu Ling 12g
Zi Su Ye 9-15g
Sheng Jiang 4sl



Preparation: Decoction.

Actions: Promotes movement of Qi, dissipates clumps, directs rebellious Qi downwards, transforms Phlegm

Contraindications: Fire from excess or deficiency with a flushed face, bitter taste and red tongue
