Gou Qi Sheng Di Jiu

Pattern: Liver and Kidney Yin and Jing deficiency

Key Symptoms: Impotence, spermatorrhoea, vexation and agitation, hot flushes, soreness and weakness of the lower back, blurred vision



Ingredients
Gou Qi Zi 250g
Sheng Di Huang 300g
Bai Jiu 975ml

Subsitutions:
Bai Jiu (white alcohol) traditionally means distilled rice wine but can be substituted with any clear 40% spirit.



Preparation: Grind the herbs and place them in a jar with 975ml of alcohol and seal the lid for 15 days. Open, remove the dregs and take 10-20ml morning and evening on an empty stomach.

Actions: Supplements Jing and fortifies the Kidneys, enriches Yin, nourishes Liver Blood, brightens the eyes

Contraindications: Turnips, onions and scallions should be avoided while taking this formula to avoid damaging Yin fluids with their acridity. Damp-Heat conditions and long term use due to the harmful effects on continuous alcohol consumption.
