Pattern: Obstruction of the Qi dynamic in the Middle Jiao and Upper Jiao by Qi constraint and Phlegm obstruction

Key Symptoms: Anxiety, depression, irritability, a feeling of something caught in the throat, stifling sensation in the chest and hypochondria, epigastric fullness, symptoms worsen when under stress
Secondary Symptoms: Breathing difficulty, palpitations, anxiety, irritability, chest pain, nausea, vomiting, dry throat, hiccup, belching, abdominal distention


Ingredients
Zhi Ban Xia 15g
Fu Ling 12g
Zi Su Ye 6g
Jiang Chao Hou Po 9g



Preparation: Originally ground into powder with 12g decocted into 1 cup of water with 7 slices of Sheng Jiang.

Actions: Move the Qi, directs rebellion downwards, transforms Phlegm, disperses clumping



Notes:
This is essentially the same and Ban Xia Hou Po Tang. Originally used for disorders caused by the seven emotions it is now used for any disorders of obstruction to the Qi dynamic in the Upper and Middle Jiao with Phlegm and Qi constraint.
