Di Huang Yin Zi

Category: Formulas that Tonify Yin and Yang

Pattern: Mute paraplegia due to deficiency of Kidney Yin and Yang producing Phlegm

Key Symptoms: Stiffness of the tongue with inability to speak, disability or paralysis of the lower extremities, dry mouth with an absence of thirst

Tongue: Greasy, yellow coat
Pulse: Submerged, slow, thin and frail


Ingredients
Shu Di Huang 30g
Shan Zhu Yu 30g (dry fried)
Rou Cong Rong 30g (wine soaked and stone baked)
Ba Ji Tian 30g
Bao Fu Zi 30g
Rou Gui 30g
Shi Hu 30g
Fu Ling 30g
Wu Wei Zi 30g (dry fried)
Mai Men Dong 15g (prepared)
Shi Chang Pu 15g
Yuan Zhi 15g



Preparation: Grind equal amounts into powder and prepare 9-15g as a decoction with 3 slices of Sheng Jiang and 2 pieces of Da Zao and boil until 2/3 of the water remains. Take warm before a meal. Can also be prepared as a decoction.

Actions: Enriches the Kidney Yin, tonifies the Kidney Yang, opens the orifices, transforms Phlegm
