Kang Zhuang Jiu

Pattern: Liver and Kidney Yin deficiency

Key Symptoms: Premature greying of the hair, physical exhaustion, lack of strength, soreness of the lower back and knees



Ingredients
Gou Qi Zi 45g
Shen Qu 45g
Ju Hua 45g
Shu Di Huang 45g
Rou Gui 45g
Rou Cong Rong 36g
Bai Jiu 1.95L

Subsitutions:
Bai Jiu (white alcohol) traditionally means distilled rice wine but can be substituted with any clear 40% spirit.



Preparation: Grind the herbs into powder and place in a large jar with 1.95L of alcohol for 5 days in spring and summer or 7 days in autumn or winter. Open, remove the dregs and store for use. Take a small amount, warm on an empty stomach.

Actions: Fortifies the Liver and Kidneys, blackens the hair, fortifies the body in the elderly.

Contraindications: Damp-Heat conditions and long term in the young and middle aged use due to the harmful effects on continuous alcohol consumption.
