Category: Formulas that Treat Abscesses and Sores

Pattern: Sloughing Ulcer due to obstruction by Fire Toxin leading to stasis of Blood in the Sinews and Blood Vessels

Key Symptoms: Ulcerated sores that do not heal on a limb that is dark red, slightly swollen and warm to the touch.
Secondary Symptoms: Rotten smell and copious discharge, fever, thirst

Tongue: Red
Pulse: Rapid

Jin Yin Hua 90g
Xuan Shen 90g
Dang Gui 60g
Gan Cao 30g

Preparation: Decoction.

Actions: Clears Heat, resolves Toxicity, nourishes the Yin, invigorates the Blood, alleviates pain

Contraindications: Cold, Qi deficiency, or Blood deficiency

Source text recommends a minimum of 10 day course of treatment. Reducing the dosage will reduce its effectiveness.
