Category: Formulas that Dispel Summerheat

Pattern: Summerheat with concurrent exterior condition

Key Symptoms: Fever, sweating, thirst, irritability, urinary difficulty, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, chills, aversion to drafts, headache with a sensation of distention in the head, cough

Tongue: Thin, yellow and greasy coat
Pulse: Soggy and rapid



Ingredients
Hua Shi
Zhi Gan Cao
Bo He

Subsitutions:
In the UK Hua Shi must be substituted with Chi Fu Ling and Ze Xie.



Preparation: Six parts Hua Shi to one part Gan Cao and 1/3 of a part Bo He are ground into a powder and taken in 9-18g doses with warm water or prepared as a decoction by placing the ingredients in a cheese cloth bag.

Actions: Clears Summerheat, resolves Dampness, augments the Qi, releases the Exterior
