Ingredients
Chai Hu
Huang Qin (wine fried)
Zhi Ban Xia
Sheng Di Huang
Shui Niu Jiao
Mu Dan Pi
Tao Ren
Shan Zha
Zhi Gan Cao
Sheng Jiang

Subsitutions:
In the UK Shui Niu Jiao must be substituted for Xuan Shen and Huang Lian in a 3:1 ratio.

The original description of this formula also processes Chai Hu in turtle blood to focus the effects deeper in the body and prevent depletion of Yin. This is also not applicable in modern UK practice so raising the amounts of Mu Dan Pi, Sheng Di Huang and Xuan Shen/Huang Lian is advisable because these are from Xi Jiao Di Huang Tang that clears Blood level Heat and nourish Yin.



Preparation: Decoction. The source text does not specify dosages.

Actions: Harmonises and releases Shaoyang disorders, cools and nourishes the Blood, dispels stasis and disperses clumps
