Key Symptoms: Red, hot swelling that have not yet come to a head.
Secondary Symptoms: Source text indicates many types of swelling including abscesses, flat-headed abscesses on the back, deep-set toxic sores, swelling from trauma, Damp-Phlegm spreading sores, sores from febrile disorders, lacquer sores, erisipelas, Wind-Heat Heaven-borne blisters (Tian Pao Chuang), redness and swelling of the skin, burns, dry or Damp leg Qi, breast abscesses, or stubborn malign hot sores.


Ingredients
Tian Hua Fen 500g
Huang Bai 250g
Da Huang 250g
Jiang Huang 250g
Bai Zhi 250g
Hou Po 100g
Chen Pi 100g
Gan Cao 100g
Cang Zhu 100g
Zhi Tian Nan Xing 100g



Preparation: Ground into a fine powder. To make a plaster the powder is mixed with honey, tea, sesame oil or other medium.

Actions: Clears Heat, resolved Toxicity, disperses Stasis, reduces swelling, dispels Dampness, transforms Phlegm

Contraindications: Should not be applied to open wounds, except superficial blisters such as herpes or impetigo
