Pattern: Pathogenic Heat or Phlegm-Heat entering the Pericardium

Key Symptoms: Fever, irritability, restlessness, generalised sense of unease, delirious speech, impaired consciousness, childhood convulsions or closed-type Wind-Stroke

Tongue: Scarlet red
Pulse: Thin and rapid or wiry and rapid


Ingredients
Niu Huang 0.75g
Zhu Sha 4.5g
Huang Lian 15g
Huang Qin 9g
Zhi Zi 9g
Yu Jin 6g

Subsitutions:
Due to toxicity Zhu Sha should be substituted with Hu Po. In the UK Niu Huang must also be substituted with Huang Lian, Gou Teng and Tian Zhu Huang.



Preparation: Decoction.

Actions: Clears Heat, resolves Toxicity, opens up the orifices, calms the Shen

Contraindications: Abandoned disorders, or any problem not due to clogging and overabundance. Long term use.
