Pattern: Cold-Damp Yin-type jaundice from over-prescription of cooling medicinals

Key Symptoms: Dark coloured jaundice that lacks, shine, cold extremities, skin that is cold to the touch, hard focal distention in the epigastrium, dry eyes that do not want to open, diarrhoea, fatigue with a desire to lie down.


Ingredients
Zhi Fu Zi 6g
Pao Jiang 6g
Yin Chen 3.6g
Bai Zhu 1.2g
Cao Dou Kou 3g
Fu Ling 0.9g
Zhi Shi 1.5g
Zhi Ban Xia 1.5g
Ze Xie 1.5g
Chen Pi 0.9g
Sheng Jiang 5sl

Subsitutions:
In the UK Fu Zi must be substituted. For internal collapse of Yang the best substitutes are Rou Gui and Gan Jiang.



Preparation: Decoction. Source text advises to decoct in 1.5 cups of water until 1 cup remains, discard the dregs and drink the strained liquid cold.

Actions: Warms the Middle Jiao, disperses Cold, dried Dampness, unblocks the Qi dynamic.

Contraindications: Yang-type jaundice
