Category: Formulas that Tonify Blood

Pattern: Blood stasis and Toxic-Heat damaging Blood

Key Symptoms: Chronic continuous and excessive uterine bleeding
Secondary Symptoms: Pale complexion, stabbing pain in the abdomen, alternating fever and chills or simultaneous Heat and Cold signs such as heat in the upper body with cold below or irritability and restlessness despite fatigue and exhaustion.

Also used for stubborn skin diseases with dry, itchy, inflamed skin.

Tongue: Dry with a red tip and thin white coat
Pulse: Submerged and rapid

Huang Lian 3g
Huang Qin 3g
Huang Bai 3g
Zhi Zi 3g
Shu Di Huang 3g
Chuan Xiong 3g
Dang Gui 3g
Bai Shao 3g


Preparation: Decoction.


Actions: Drains Fire, resolves toxicity, tonifies the Blood and stops bleeding
