Pattern: Spleen deficiency with accumulation and stagnation

Key Symptoms: Focal distention in the chest and abdomen, lack of thirst, no appetite
Secondary Symptoms: Fatigue, weakness, wan complexion, poor digestion, irregular bowel movements (sometimes loose, sometimes hard)

Tongue: Thin, greasy coating that may be yellow
Pulse: Wiry at the right middle position
Abdomen: Focal distention and fullness in the epigastrium, weak around the umbilicus


Ingredients
Zhi Shi 9-15g
Zhi Hou Po 9-12g
Huang Lian 6-9g
Zhi Ban Xia 9g
Ren Shen 6-9g
Bai Zhu 6-9g
Fu Ling 6-9g
Mai Ya 6-9g
Gan Jiang 3-6g
Zhi Gan Cao 3-6g



Preparation: Decoction.

Actions: Reduces focal distention, eliminated fullness, strengtens the Spleen, harmonises the Stomach

Contraindications: Spleen deficiency without excess
