Five Seed Decoction

Category: Formulas that Drain Downward

Pattern: Dryness of the Intestines with Spleen and Kidney deficiency

Key Symptoms: Habitual constipation with dry stools that resemble small pellets accompanied by discomfort in the lower abdomen and difficulty falling asleep

Tongue: Little coating
Pulse: Submerged, thin and rough on the right while wiry, thin and slightly rapid on the left


Ingredients

Rou Cong Rong 12g
Nu Zhen Zi 9g
Han Lian Cao 9g
Bai Zi Ren 9g
Huo Ma Ren 12g
Jue Ming Zi 6g
Hei Zhi Ma 9g


Preparation: Decoction. Afterwards there should be a bowel movement that will improve all the symptoms.


Actions: Enriches the Kidneys and augments the Spleen, moistens the Intestines and unblocks the passage of the stool.
