Zheng Gu Zi Jin Dan

Category: Formulas that Regulate Blood

Pattern: Qi and Blood stagnation due to trauma (second and third stages)

Key Symptoms: Second and third stage trauma (especially second)

Ding Xiang 37.5g
Mu Xiang 37.5g
Xue Jie 37.5g
Er Cha 37.5g
Zhi Da Huang 37.5g
Mu Dan Pi 18g
Hong Hua 37.5g
Dang Gui 75g (root head)
Lian Zi 75g
Fu Ling 75g
Bai Shao 75g
Gan Cao 12g

Preparation: Ground into powder and made into pills with honey. Take 9g with yellow wine.

Actions: Invigorates the Blood, dispels stasis, moves the Qi and alleviates pain

Contraindications: Pregnancy

For traumatised bones and sinews add Xu Duan, Du Zhong and Gu Sui Bu.
For significant pain add Mo Yao and Ru Xiang
For heat and swelling add Lian Qiao and Pu Gong Ying
For aches and stiffness or conditions aggravated by exposure to wind or dampness and improved by warmth add Wei Ling Xian and Wu Jia Pi
For Cold in the channels add Rou Gui or Gui Zhi and Xian Mao

For third stage trauma with more Wind-Dampness a formula like Shu Jing Huo Xue Tang may be a better choice.
