Pattern: Drum distention due to Damp-Heat

Key Symptoms: Abdominal distention, firmness with a sensation of fullness and bursting pain in the epigastrium and abdomen
Secondary Symptoms: Irritability, fever, a bitter taste in the mouth, dark yellow urine, constipation or foul-smelling diarrhoea

Tongue: Yellow, greasy coat
Pulse: Wiry, rapid
Abdomen: Distended and painful



Ingredients
Hou Po 30g (ginger fried)
Zhi Shi 15g (dry fried)
Jiang Huang 3g
Huang Qin 36g (dry fried)
Huang Lian 15g (dry fried)
Gan Jiang 6g
Zhi Ban Xia 15g
Zhi Mu 12g (dry fried)
Ze Xie 9g
Zhu Ling 3g
Fu Ling 6g
Bai Zhu 3g
Ren Shen 3g
Zhi Gan Cao 3g
Chen Pi 9g
Sha Ren 6g



Preparation: Decoction.

Actions: Strengthens the Spleen, regulates the Qi, drains Heat, resolves Dampness

Contraindications: Any conditions not due to Damp-Heat without modification
