Chai Hu Xi Xin Tang

Bupleurum and Asarum Decoction

Pattern: Qi and Blood stagnation from trauma to the head

Key Symptoms: Concussion, cerebral contusion headache, dizziness, nausea


Ingredients

Chai Hu 6g
Xi Xin 3g
Bo He 4.5g
Dang Gui Wei 9g
Tu Bie Chong 9g
Dan Shen 9g
Zhi Ban Xia 4.5g
Chuan Xiong 9g
Ze Lan 9g
Huang Lian 3g

Subsitutions:
In the UK Xi Xin must be substituted for Gui Zhi and Qiang Huo, or Wei Ling Xian.
Tu Bie Chong can be substituted with E Zhu and Ru Xiang.


Preparation: Decoction.


Actions: Dispels stasis, promotes the production of new Blood and tissue, regulates and harmonises ascending and descending downward,
