Pattern: Xiao Ke affecting the Upper Jiao; Lung Excess with Kidney Deficiency; Lung Heat

Key Symptoms: Thirst, dry mouth, heat in the oesophagus, hoarse voice, polyuria or red and turbid urine

Tongue: Red and dry with thin yellow or no coating
Pulse: Big and forceless or thready and rapid

Mai Men Dong 15g
Tian Men Dong 15g
Tian Huan Fen 15g
Huang Qin 6g
Zhi Mu 6g
Ren Shen 10g (or Dang Shen 20g)
He Ye 6g


Preparation: Decoction


Actions: Nourishes Yin, clears Heat, generates fluids, tonifies Qi
