Jin Hua Jiu

Ingredients

Huang Bai 90g
Huang Lian 15g
Zhi Zi 30g
Bai Jiu 500ml

Subsitutions:
Bai Jiu (white alcohol) traditionally means rice wine but can be substituted with any other high strength spirit.


Preparation: Place the herbs in a jar with 500ml of alcohol and place in a large pan of water. Bring to the boil 100 times, allow to cool and store for use. Take 20ml on an empty stomach at no fixed schedule until cured.


Actions: Clears Heat and drains Dampness

Contraindications: Pregnancy, long term use. Wine formulas that clear Damp-Heat should only be used for short periods due to the Damp-Heat producing nature of alcohol and preferably only the elderly with an underlying deficiency.
