Category: Formulas that Tonify Qi

Pattern: Spleen Qi Deficiency accompanied by Phlegm

Key Symptoms: Fatigue, loss of appetite, focal distention, stifling sensation in the chest and epigastrium
Secondary Symptoms: Nausea, vomiting, coughing of copious thin white sputum, borborygmus, thin or unformed stools

Tongue: Swollen body with tooth marked and thin, greasy white coating
Pulse: Deep, thin, weak
Abdomen: Soft abdomen lacking in muscle tone, splashing sounds, epigastric tenderness, pencil line hardness between umbilicus and xiphoid process


Ingredients

Ren Shen 3g
Bai Zhu 4.5g
Fu Ling 3g
Zhi Gan Cao 3g
Chen Pi 3g
Zhi Ban Xia 4.5g


Preparation: Decoction.


Actions: Strengthens the Spleen, transforms Phlegm, stops vomiting

Contraindications: Phlegm and Dampness without Spleen deficiency
