Pattern: Great Red Vein Passing the Eyes (大赤脈傳睛 Da Chi Mai Chuan Jing) due to Heart Excess Stirring Ministerial Fire in the San Jiao that invades the Liver to affect the eyes

Key Symptoms: Red blood vessels appearing from the inner canthus.


Ingredients

Dang Gui 40g
Chi Shao 40g
Da Huang 80g
Ma Huang 80g
Jing Jie 20g
Huang Lian 40g
Zhi Zi 40g


Preparation: Grind into powder and take 15-20g boiled in water after meals.


Actions: Clears Wind-Heat, resolves Toxicity and brightens the eyes.Releases Fire and clears Heat



Notes:
The dosage of Zhi Zi is not stated in original so I have assumed that the dosage of Zhi Zi and Huang Lian is both 1 liang (40g)
