Pattern: Pathogenic Heat in the Qi aspect of the Upper Jiao inhibiting the Lungs regulation of water pathways, causing accumulation of Damp-Heat in the Lower Jiao

Key Symptoms: Painful urinary dribbling or urinary blockage accompanied by thirst.


Ingredients

Deng Xin Cao 0.3g
Tong Cao 0.6g
Ze Xie 1.5g
Qu Mai 1.5g
Hu Po 1.5g
Bian Xu 2.1g
Mu Tong 3g
Che Qian Zi 6g
Fu Ling 6g
Zhu Ling 9g

Subsitutions:
In the UK Mu Tong must be substituted. Just about every possible substitute is already in this formula so increasing Qu Mai and Tong Cao may be the best alternatives. Dan Zhu Ye may also assist as a diuretic helping the Heat drain from the Upper Jiao through the urine.


Preparation: Grind the herbs into a powder and decoct 15g as a draft. Should not be taken with meals.


Actions: Clears and drains Lung Heat, promotes urination, unblocks painful urinary dribbling
