Three Marvel Powder

Category: Formulas that Expel Dampness

Pattern: Damp-Heat lodged in the Lower Burner

Key Symptoms: Numbness or burning pain in the feet
Secondary Symptoms: Weakness in the lower back and extremities

Tongue: Greasy, yellow coating
Pulse: Slippery, possibly rapid


Ingredients

Huang Bai 120g (wine fried)
Cang Zhu 180g
Niu Xi 60g


Preparation: Originally ground into powder and mixed with flour into small pills. 70 are taken on an empty stomach with ginger juice or salted water. At present it is normally prepared as a decoction with appropriate reduction in dosage.


Actions: Clears Heat, dries Dampness

Contraindications: Lung Heat, Liver and Kidney deficiency
