Pattern: Severe Violent Wind Accompanied with Heat (暴風客熱 Bao Feng Ke Re) Invading the Liver and Lung aspects of the eyes

Key Symptoms: Irregularly recurring rough, red, severely painful eyes with a screen (Yi) and swelling on white of the eye such that it appears to swallow the pupil, and is difficult to open.


Ingredients

Dang Gui
Gan Cao
Da Huang
Chi Shao
Cang Zhu
Sang Piao Xiao
Qiang Huo
Ma Huang
Chong Wei Zi

Subsitutions:
If the heat is severe, add more Da Huang and Pu Xiao.


Preparation: Grind into powder, take equal amounts and boil in water. Take warm after meals. Alternatively grind and take 15g in warm wine.


Actions: Releases the Exterior, Expels Wind-Dampness and clears Heat from the Liver and Lungs. Regulates the Blood and alleviates pain.
