Pattern: Spleen Qi and Kidney Yin deficiency leading to painful intestinal ulcers or numbness, pain and ulceration from Wasting and Thirsting (Xiao Ke)

Key Symptoms: Abdominal pain and bloody diarrhoea or peripheral pain and numbness with unhealing ulcers accompanied by thirst, wasting and excessive urination
Secondary Symptoms: Soreness and weakness in the lower back and knees, hot palms and soles, lightheadedness, dizziness, difficulty concentrating, Impaired hearing, tinnitus, chronic dry and sore throat, toothache, spontaneous or nocturnal emissions, night sweats, nocturea, difficult or excessive urination, reduced menstrual flow, loss of libido, impotence, premature ejaculation

Tongue: Pale or Red with scanty coating, dry, maybe cracked
Pulse: Rapid, thin, weak

Dang Shen 12-24g
Huang Qi 12-24g
Shu Di Huang 12-24g
Shan Zhu Yu 9-12g
Shan Yao 9-12g
Fu Ling 6-9g
Mu Dan Pi 6-9g
Ze Xie 6-9g


Preparation: Decoction


Actions: Tonifies Spleen Qi and enriches Yin, nourishes the Kidneys and generates flesh
