Si Miao Wan

Category: Formulas that Expel Dampness

Pattern: Atrophy disorder due to Damp-Heat lodged in the Lower Burner

Key Symptoms: Severe numbness and weakness in the lower extremities with painful and swollen feet

Tongue: Greasy, yellow coating
Pulse: Slippery, possibly rapid


Ingredients

Huang Bai 240g
Cang Zhu 240g
Niu Xi 240g
Yi Yi Ren 240g


Preparation: Originally ground into powder and taken in 6-9g doses 2-3 times daily. At present it is normally prepared as a decoction with appropriate reduction in dosage.


Actions: Clears Heat, dries Dampness

Contraindications: Lung Heat, Liver and Kidney deficiency
