Tu Si Zi Jiu

Pattern: Cockcrow diarrhoea from Kidney Yang deficiency and waning of the Ming Men Fire.

Key Symptoms: Weak and sore lower back, cold limbs, aversion to cold, daybreak diarrhoea


Ingredients

Tu Si Zi 300g
Bai Jiu 1.9L

Subsitutions:
Bai Jiu (white alcohol) traditionally means distilled rice wine but can be substituted with any clear 40% spirit.


Preparation: Place Tu Su Zi in a large jar with 1.9L of alcohol and seal the lid (source text does not state but probably for 1 month). Open, remove the dregs and store for use. Take 10-40ml three times per day.


Actions: Strengthens the Kidneys, assists the Ming Men Fire, stops diarrhoea.

Contraindications: Damp-Heat conditions and long term use due to the harmful effects on continuous alcohol consumption.
