Pattern: Menstrual pain due to Qi and Blood Stasis

Key Symptoms: Menstrual pain or abdominal pain that radiates to the lower back or ribs
Secondary Symptoms: Emotional disturbance


Ingredients

Yan Hu Suo 15g (dry fried)
Dang Gui 15g (wine soaked, grated and dry fried)
Pu Huang 15g (dry fried)
Chi Shao 15g
Rou Gui 15g
Jiang Huang 9g
Ru Xiang 9g
Mo Yao 9g
Mu Xiang 9g
Zhi Gan Cao 7.5g


Preparation: Grind the ingredients into a coarse powder and cook 12g of the powder with 7 slices of Sheng Jiang in 1.5 large bowls of water until it is reduced to 1 bowl. Take the warm, strained decoction before meals.


Actions: Invigorates Qi and Blood to regulate menstruation and alleviate pain.

Contraindications: Not suitable for disorders characterised by Heat.
