Pattern: Deficiency of the Exterior with weak and unstable Wei Qi

Key Symptoms: Aversion to drafts, spontaneous sweating, shiny pale complexion
Secondary Symptoms: Recurrent colds, allergic nasal obstruction or skin rashes

Tongue: Pale with white coat
Pulse: Floating,deficient,soft
Abdomen: May be damp on palpation, lack of tonus of abdominal muscles, splashing sounds


Ingredients

Huang Qi 12g
Bai Zhu 12g
Fang Feng 6g
Da Zao 1pc


Preparation: Decoction.


Actions: Augments the Qi, stabilises the Exterior, stops sweating

What is interesting about this formula is the absence of echinacea that is probably the most famous western herb for boosting the immune system.
