Category: Formulas that Regulate Qi

Pattern: Qi constraint that may involve Dampness, Phlegm, Fire, Blood stasis or food stagnation

Key Symptoms: Focal distention, stifling sensation in the chest and abdomen, reduced appetite
Secondary Symptoms: Fixed pain in the hypochondria, belching, vomiting, acid reflux, mild coughing with copious sputum, indigestion

Tongue: Greasy coating
Pulse: Varies but not deficient or soft
Abdomen: Focal distention in the epigastrium


Ingredients

Cang Zhu 6-12g
Chuan Xiong 6-12g
Xiang Fu 6-12g
Zhi Zi 6-12g
Shen Qu 6-12g


Preparation: Decoction.


Actions: Promotes movement of Qi, releases constraint

Contraindications: Stagnation or constraint due to deficiency
