Pattern: Severe Stage Epidemic Poison Blocking the Lung from Coronavirus infection

Key Symptoms: Fever, flushing, cough, yellowish phlegm, or blood in sputum, wheezing, shortness of breath, tiredness, fatigue, dryness, bitterness and stickiness in the mouth, nausea, loss of appetite, poor stool, and short urination

Tongue: Red with yellow, greasy coating
Pulse: Slippery


Ingredients

Ma Huang 6g (raw)
Xing Ren 9g
Shi Gao 15g (raw)
Gan Cao 3g
Huo Xiang 10g (added later)
Hou Po 10g
Cang Zhu 15g
Cao Guo 10g
Ban Xia 9g (Fa)
Fu Ling 15g
Da Huang 5g (raw, added later)
Huang Qi 10g (raw)
Ting Li Zi 10g
Chi Shao 10g

Subsitutions:
Several herbs have to be substituted in the UK but the formula can be used as a base with which to derive others.


Preparation: Decoction. Boiled with 100-200 ml water, taken 2-4 times per day, orally or by nasal tube. A second batch may be prepared in one day.


Actions: Clears Heat and transforms Phlegm and Dampness, moves stagnation, stops coughing and directs Qi downwards
