Pattern: Chronic Wind-Damp Bi Syndrome in the leg and buttocks

Key Symptoms: Pain in the lower back and buttocks which may radiate down the leg and is worse when sitting.
Secondary Symptoms: Can also be used for intercostal neuralgic pain and gout.


Ingredients

Dang Gui 20g
Safflower 20g
Ru Xiang 20g
Mo Yao 20g
Chuan Xiong 60g
Chuan Niu Xi 60g
Wu Shao She 60g
Xue Jie 60g
Su Mu 100g
Xu Duan 100g
Gou Ji 100g
Fang Feng 100g
Du Huo 100g
Qiang Huo 100g
Ji Xue Teng 150g


Preparation: Decoct the ingredients and add to hot bath water. Can also be used for intercostal neuralgia with the addition of 150g Jin Yin Hua.


Actions: Releases the Exterior, Expels Wind-Dampness, breaks up Qi and Blood Stasis, Tonifies Kidney Yang and alleviates pain

Contraindications: Herbal baths are not suitable for children, the elderly or seriously ill people. It is also not recommended for individuals who have a tendency to bleed easily, or who have heart, lung and kidney problems.
