Traditional Actions/Indications:

  1. Open the Orifices and expels Turbid Phlegm
    Shock, loss of consciousness, depression with lack of responsiveness
    Respiratory tract infections, bronchitis, colds and flu
  2. Invigorates Heart Blood and stimulates Heart Qi
    Palpitations, weak limbs, low blood pressure, chest distress, fatigue, shortness of breath, sweat upon exertion
    Blood stasis pain
  3. Expels Wind-Damp Bi
    Arthritis, muscular aches and pains, sprains
    Lymphatic congestion
  4. Kills Parasites
    Scabies, ringworm, skin inflammation

Cautions: Avoid in pregnancy as it can cross the placental barrier. Avoid in children with epilepsy or a history or febrile convulsions. Can irritate mucous membranes and is toxic in large doses, especially if ingested.
