Traditional Actions/Indications:

  1. Relaxes the Diaphragm and promotes circulation of Lung Qi
    Asthma, bronchitis
    Meditation, prayer or spiritual practices that require deep breathing
  2. Invigorates the Blood and calms the Shen
    Anxiety, irritability, agitation, insomnia, worry, and depression, poor mental focus
    Loss of spirituality, depression, grief, anxiety, restlessness, mental confusion, sensory over-stimulation, brings spiritual focus to palliative care
    Joint pain, muscular aches and pains, traumatic injury
  3. Clears Heat in the Lungs, Stomach and Kidneys
    Cough and wheezing, frequent respiratory infections (Lungs)
    Ulcers, fibrocystic breast (Stomach)
    Cystitis (Kidneys)
  4. Reduces swelling and regenerates flesh
    Dry skin, scars, wrinkles
    Non-suppurating sores, wounds, chronic ulcers, boils, carbuncles and abscesses
    Swollen or bleeding gums

Cautions: Traditionally avoided in pregnancy due to its Blood moving properties.

Blends with: Citrus oils like Lime, Lemon, and Wild Orange, and other oils such as Cypress, Lavender, Geranium, Rose, Sandalwood, Ylang Ylang, and Clary Sage
