Traditional Actions/Indications:

  1. Regulates the flow of Liver Qi and calms the Shen
    Irritability, anger, mood swings, feelings of frustration
    Emotional and mental confusion, lethargy in the morning, inability to let go of negative emotions
  2. Tonifies Spleen Qi
    Nausea, flatulence, constipation and diarrhoea in children
    Indigestion, bile disorders, flatulence, hiccups, nausea
    Mental strain, fatigue, stress, depression
  3. Clears Heat, Opens the orifices and Releases the Exterior
    Congested sinuses, catarrh, wheezing, asthma
    Acute respiratory infections with thick, purulent mucus
  4. Benefits the skin and alleviates itching
    Dermatitis, acne and congested skin

Cautions: Generally safe but may be sensitising in high doses.
