Traditional Actions/Indications:
  1. Clears Heat and promotes urination
    Damp-Heat in the Bladder with dribbling, difficult and painful urination, scanty dark urine and oedema
    Ulceration on the oral mucosa and tongue due to up-flaming of Heart Fire
    Damp-Heat Bi Syndrome eith red, swollen joints
  2. Activates the Blood to promote menstruation and facilitates lactation
    Amenorrhoea due to Blood Stasis
    Insufficient lactation (can be used alone or in combination)

Suggested Daily Dosage: 3-6g in decoction.


Cautions: It is contraindicated for qi deficiency, fluid impairment, diuresis and pregnant women.

Caution must be taken that the correct Mu Tong is used as Guan Mu Tong is toxic Aristolochia manshuriensis.
