- Clears Wind-Heat and astringes the intestines
Sore throat
Inflammation in the mouth
Gastro-intestinal inflammation with diarrhoea
- Regulates Blood and alleviates spasms
Menstrual cramps
Also taken after 32 weeks pregnancy to shorten labour
- Clear Heat, resolve Toxicity, improve eyesight and astringes wounds (topical)
Swelling and pain of eyes, glaucoma, blepharitis
Toothache
Sores, boils and skin erosion
Suggested Daily Dosage: 12-24g in decotion. For external use, pounded into juice for eye drops.
Cautions: Traditionally used in the west by pregnant women for aiding delivery so internal consumption should be avoided by pregnant women before the last two months.
