Traditional Actions/Indications:
  1. Tonifies the Blood and raises Spleen Yang
    Varicose veins, gout, leg cramps and hemorrhoids from standing for long periods
    Orthostatic hypotension, dizziness on standing, low blood pressure
    Oedema due to venous insufficiency
  2. Promotes urination
    Difficult urination, urinary gravel (Lin syndrome), nephritis

Suggested Daily Dosage: 9g in decoction.


Cautions: Due to its tightening effect on blood vessels, butcher's broom may worsen high blood pressure or benign prostate hyperplasia.
